Welcome to SAINT RAFQA

We warmly welcome all who seek to learn more about the beloved Lebanese Maronite Saints—especially Saint Rafqa, a shining example of faith, love, and sacrifice.

We are not a formal organization or a church. We are simply devoted followers of Saint Rafqa, inspired by her unwavering love for Christ and her holy life of prayer and offering.

Our goal is to share her story, celebrate her sainthood, and spread the light of her example to hearts around the world.

Whether you are a lifelong devotee or just discovering her for the first time, we invite you to journey with us.

Together, let us grow in faith and love, and honor Saint Rafqa’s legacy by sharing her spirit with others.

Throughout her life, she prayed to share in the pain that Jesus endured during His Passion. For her, suffering was a way to grow closer to Christ, to love Him more deeply, and to offer herself completely to God.

Her prayers were answered in a powerful way. She began to experience intense physical pain, first in her head and eyes. Over time, she lost her sight completely and became paralyzed. By the end of her life, she was blind and crippled—but her soul was full of light.

Even in her worst pain, she never complained. Instead, she gave thanks to God, saying that suffering united her with Jesus. Her joy, peace, and deep love for Christ were a source of inspiration to everyone around her.

Saint Rafqa teaches us that even in suffering, there can be great beauty, if it is offered with love and faith.

Saint Rafqa suffered for seventeen years as a blind paralytic. Only God knows how much she had to endure.

Her pain was unceasing, day and night, yet the other sisters never once heard her murmur or complain.

She often told them that she thanked God for her suffering:

“…because I know that the sickness I have is for the good of my soul and His glory.”

She also said:

“Sickness accepted with patience and thanksgiving purifies the soul as fire purifies gold.”

Blessed Saint Rafqa is honored today as the patron saint against bodily ills, sickness, and the loss of parents.
